My Hiding Place

"He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler." Psalms 91:4

“You are my hiding place; You preserve me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.” Psalms 32:7

Fear and worry fill my mind and disrupt peace within my soul in coping with my multiple chronic issues. Disrupted plans, emotional fatigue in juggling doctor appointments, coping with the day’s limitations, remembering medication times, the unopened evelope from a physician: appointment reminder, another bill, or a dreaded lab result?

Enveloped in blankets, the quiet of night, and physical discomfort, uncertainties of frightening future possibilities engulf my mind stealing my peace and joy. With silent tears, I reach out to my Savior in prayer. I am surrounded in His warm embrace.  With love, He gently calms my troubled heart.  I am reminded of all He brings me through, my many blessings. Pleading prayer is gradually replaced with thankful worship.

Safe in the hiding comfort of God, I fall into a peaceful slumber.

“Dear Lord, thank you for the loving comfort and safety in the shelter of your wings. When life gets too heavy, You are my hiding place, a refuge from my fear and worry. I could not do this without you. I love you. Amen.”
